What I do

I provide singing tuition to a range of people, from beginners to more experienced singers, regardless of age or previous experience. The most important requirement for anyone wishing to improve their voice is enthusiasm and the willingness to try new music. I draw principally on my own classical background but am always happy to help singers from all fields who may be experiencing voice problems.

I think I sang even before I spoke, but my earliest lessons were with Ethel Budd in Bedford, then Henry Cummings in Hereford, James Walkley in Worcester and Mark Wildman at the Royal Academy of Music in London.

I am registered with ABRSM (Associate Board of the Royal Schools of Music) and I am also a member of AOTOS (Association of Teachers of Singing); BVA (British Voice Association); and the Ernest George White Society and School of Sinus Tone.

My approach

Using the accumulated knowledge and experience of 30 years of singing I treat every voice as a unique instrument and seek to help the individual get the very best from their own voice, using exercises specifically designed for each singer. I do use a computer programme for recording and voice analysis but I believe that the best tool for the singing teacher is her ear! Simply listening carefully to a voice can tell us so much...
